Antifreeze lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of water-based liquids. This is important in all applications for motor vehicles, whether it be for performance cars or for family cars. Water alone has exceptional properties as a coolant but suffers from a high freezing point and a low boiling point. Without anti-freeze, cold weather (below 0°c) can cause serious and irreversible damage to your engine whilst hot summers and/or performance driving can cause engines to overheat. By adding a suitable antifreeze, you can preserve the health of your engine through all climates.
